What Type of Party Goer are You?

Tis the season for friends, family, food, and parties. As you get ready for your holiday parties this year, take a moment to sit back and reflect on the type of party goer you are, and plan accordingly. Here are a few of the most popular party types to help you determine your style.

The coordinator

Every party needs somebody to tie it all together. The coordinators take the time to organize their friends and acquaintances, sending out assignments and choosing the location. They need to be organized as much as possible, bringing order to the event. It is crucial for this person to be there from the beginning to the end of the party, to ensure everything goes as planned.

The one who bails

Every coordinator’s worst nightmare is the one person who commits, and then later bails on the party. Coordinators need to consider this when planning on the amount of food, and other items included. The one who bails may have a variety of different reasons for not going, but it may be in part because the party planned is not their scene. Try to plan a party that everybody can enjoy.

The party animal

Everybody becomes acquainted with the party animal by the end of the night. This is the person that isn’t shy about talking to everybody, even the people they don’t know. By the time you leave, everybody is talking about the crazy things you’ve done during the party. Use your personality to make things fun, and make sure everybody feels included.

The shy one

In some cases, the shy one is only friends with one guest, possibly the coordinator, and spends the majority of their time following around the one who invited them. Party animals should go out of their way to make the shy one feel included during the event. If not, there is a good chance they will go the whole party without being noticed, or easily forgotten. Those who fall in this category should make a conscious effort to include themselves, branching out as much as possible.
